A realistic day from Kahului

Maui to the Big Island is the shortest inter-island hop in the state. The flight is 30 minutes; the security and boarding around it is the longer part. Plan to leave your Maui hotel around 5:00 am and you'll be on Big Island soil by 7:30 am. That gives you a long, satisfying day without the predawn pain of an Oʻahu departure.
